Day 5 -Today we had to change some of the pups little coloured ribbons as they had grown a bit tight around their necks! That's how fast they are growing! Jesus, Sisi, Louis, Helen ,Maxima all had new ones.
All of the pups now come out for regular cuddles - the more they are handled the better in first few weeks of their lives. It's amazing how strong they are already, how much they wriggle and squirm and toss and turn. As I said, they can only smell at the moment, they see and hear nothing for the first 10 days or so, so their nose is working overtime, trying to decipher what an earth is going on in their lives when they are removed from the safe comfort of their own little trusted nest.
They gained another 350 grams together today, so Poppy is doing a good job - 7% of of their total body weight, which is well within the guidelines of between 4 and 10%.
Now off to bed, another early start tomorrow!
